Info Post
For the past couple of months I've been working with a lovely lady on a blog redesign, set to launch soon, and when she asked me for inspiration I immediately thought of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the smooth lines of his Art Nouveau architecture and his writing style. What I wasn't familiar with at the time were his watercolor works.. landscapes mostly painted on the coasts of France featuring jagged rocks in smooth, rounded waves, simple sketches of various flora and fauna with an almost Asian aesthetic. The Scottish artist, who collaborated often with his wife, seemed to be an expert on all sorts of design, from metalwork to jewelry crafting to painting and architecture and typography. See a large online collection of his works here.
Neil just went for a trail run and I'm at home eating ice cream, listening to records and making plans for the future. Enjoying this in-between time when everything in our lives feels transitional, from the weather to Nashville itself, praying that we're on the verge of change.. not sure where to go or what to do, but we've both been itching for something different lately.
