Floral Crochet Collar Dress, Leather Macrame Belt - Thrifted
Vintage Carpet Bag - The Hip Zipper in East Nashville
Black Lace Up Oxfords - Daixiaole on Etsy

Last weekend, Neil and I ran away to Kentucky for a couple of days to spend some time alone on his parent's docked houseboat. Man alive, just writing this makes me feel relaxed again.

Antique shopping was fruitful. I found a pair of 1940's navy lace up heels, pictured above, as well as a 40's rust colored dress with black nautical buttons and some vintage hair combs. I was tempted by a couple of white lace Edwardian blouses. How great would one look with these black velvet shorts? I've been on an E.M. Forster movie kick (Where Angels Fear to Tread, Howards End, my favorite - A Room with a View.. I'm watching A Passage to India tomorrow) and the early 1900's styles are really influencing what I'm into lately.

A new Sewing Saturday project scheduled for this weekend! I've also been catching up on crafting lately. A friend of mine is putting together an underwater photo shoot and she needed floral hair pieces inspired by these lovelies (sans rhinestones). I've never worked with wire before, and it's been an adventure. More soon!
